You can also find these own the information board and in the local Paper (West Briton or Cornishman). Occasionally, the tide will be too high to get through to Dynamite/ Lelant Quay via the Beach. We advise checking the tide times so that it does not prevent you from getting to or from your car when you need to. If the tide is above 5 metres, do not use the beach route to access Dynamite/ Lelant Quay. Instead, use the footpath route to St Uny. Plan your journey withthe tide in mind to avoid being cut off.

There is a reliable bus service in Lelant. Buses run from Lelant to St Ives, Penzance, and Truro (2026 Timetable).
To St Ives:
– Services: 16, T2, 17 (Cornwall by Kernow)- Monday to Saturday: First bus around 07:20, then every 30 to 60 minutes during the day (e.g., 08:05, 08:50, 09:35, etc.), last bus around 18:30
– Sunday: First bus around 09:30, then hourly until early evening- Journey time: 15 to 20 minutes
To Penzance:
– Services: T2, 17, U4 (Cornwall by Kernow)- Monday to Saturday: First bus around 07:10, then every 30 to 60 minutes during the day (e.g., 07:55, 08:40, 09:25, etc.), last bus around 19:00
– Sunday: First bus around 09:30, then hourly until early evening- Journey time: 30 to 40 minutes
To Truro:

The train service from Lelant is on the St Ives Bay Line (2026 Timetable). For a more sustainable, scenic way to travel, why not try the short train hop? The journey offers beautiful estuary views and means you can relax without the hassle of driving or parking. Every rail trip reduces your carbon footprint, letting you make the most of your Cornish adventure in an eco-friendly way.
Trains towards St Ives:
– Monday to Saturday: First train 07:15, then hourly at 15 past every hour (e.g., 08:15, 09:15, etc.) until last train at 22:1
– Sunday: First train 09:15, then hourly until last train at 20:1
Trains towards St Erth (for mainline connections):
– Monday to Saturday: First train 07:45, then hourly at 45 past every hour (e.g., 08:45, 09:45, etc.) until last train at 22:4
– Sunday: First train 09:45, then hourly until last train at 20:4
Journey time to St Ives is around 5 minutes and to St Erth, around 6 minutes.

The St Ives Bay Line to St Ives runs every 30 minutes from Lelant Station, or you can change at St Erth for Penzance. Penzance has connections to London Paddington.

Newquay, Cornwall’s Main Airport flies to:
Aberdeen, Alicante, Belfast, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Faro, Gatwick(London), Glasgow, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, Malaga, Manchester, Newcastle, Stanstead (London) and Zurich.
Dublin only a short 30 minute hop with both Ryan Air and Aer Lingus offers great links to the USA with US Immigration Pre-Clearance at Dublin Airport. We have personally travelled the route on many occasions and can recommend it as a better alternative to travelling in and out of London due to the pre-clearance at Dublin and shorter flight time.
